Sawyer Guest of Honorships

Science-fiction conventions are great fun, and many are held almost every weekend throughout North America. Each convention will have a Guest of Honor or "GoH." Sometimes, there will be more than on GoH; in that case they usually fall into different categories: a Writer GoH, an Artist GoH, a Fan GoH, and so on.

Some conventions have a policy of never having the same GoH twice. Still, they may want to bring back a popular GoH from the past; that person is often designated a "Special Guest."

Robert J. Sawyer has been Guest of Honor at SF Conventions from coast to coast in North America — from Los Angeles to Halifax — and as far away as Italy, Spain, China, and Japan.

At Keycon 30, in Winnipeg in 2013, he won the award for "Favourite Past Guest" of the previous thirty years (Rob was Guest of Honour at Keycon 20 in 2003 and at Keycon 23 in 2006).
