Canada's Best Science Fiction

An anthology of real science fiction — not fantasy — by authors who have won or been nominated for the Hugo or Nebula Award, or won the Aurora Award for Best Novel of the Year. Authors included: Julie E. Czerneda, Paddy Forde, James Alan Gardner, Nalo Hopkinson, Spider Robinson, Robert J. Sawyer, Karl Schroeder, Peter Watts, and Robert Charles Wilson, plus the poetry of Carolyn Clink and David Livingstone Clink.

In addition, Distant Early Warnings includes a lightning round of short-shorts and a comprehensive listing of award-winning Canadian SF. This anthology was published under the Robert J. Sawyer Books imprint of Fitzhenry & Whiteside in 2009 in honour of the World Science Fiction Convention being in Montreal.

Transporters, Tribbles and the Vulcan Death Grip in Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek

David Gerrold and I edited this essay collection for BenBella Books in honor of the 40th anniversary of classic Star Trek.

The book includes an introduction by me, and essays by Trek writers such including D.C. Fontana, Norman Spinrad, Howard Weinstein, and David himself, articles by many modern SF writers who were influenced by the show, and a comprehensive essay by Eric Greene, best known for his Planet of the Apes as American Myth.
